Featured Artwork: Burns After Flaxman 2023
This work responds to the Flaxman statue in terms of the formality and solidity of the original work. It moves between greyness and colour – the tension between bookishness and bodily life, between marble columns and making a living, between stony deadness and live being. There are touches of the organic – green grass, flowers, straw, to add to the tensions between solidity, ghostliness, and vivacity.
