‘Burnsiana’ is an open-ended series of works, a series of exhibitions and a book born from an appreciation of the poetry, life and times of Scotland’s favourite son, Robert Burns.

The works are a mixture of the mundane and the surreal, assemblages of everyday objects, which become a three-dimensional canvas for various painted scenarios.

A publication of the same name by Luath Press displays some of Colvin’s works alongside the poetry of Rab Wilson, a poet from New Cumnock. The poetry has been created in response to the work and takes on many different guises, with verse that is impassioned, humorous and graceful, and adds another intriguing layer to the artworks.
